Crafted with time
TOCTのプロダクト製作は、デジタル画面から始まります。
デザインは3Dモデリングにより設計され、
直線や左右対称性、研ぎ澄まされた輪郭を描き出します。
そこに金継ぎ師が一点一点、漆を用いて手作業で金継ぎを施すことで、機械製造と手仕事が融合し、
「不均整の美」が生まれます。
漆は一定に保たれた温度と湿度の中で化学反応を起こし、時間をかけて、ゆっくりと硬化していきます。
効率ではなく、お客様への想いとともに、
一つひとつの工程に丁寧に向き合うこと。
TOCT's product-making begins on a digital screen.
The design is developed through 3D modeling, shaping straight lines, symmetry, and finely refined contours.
Then, a Kintsugi artisan applies Kintsugi by hand, one piece at a time, using Urushi, where machine-made precision and hand craftsmanship come together to give rise to the beauty of asymmetry.
Urushi undergoes a chemical reaction in a carefully controlled environment of temperature and humidity,
slowly hardening over time at its own pace.
Rather than pursuing efficiency,
we approach each step with care, keeping in mind the people who will wear each piece.
