What we wear reflects what we value
The things we choose to wear
are something each of us continues to choose,
day after day.
Within those choices is reflected
what we value, what we believe,
and how we wish to live.
Those who choose comfort
value the time they spend.
Those who dress for where they are going
carry consideration for others and care in every interaction.
Those who wear what they love
cherish the world they have made their own.
Because these choices are repeated so naturally every day,
perhaps not everyone realizes
how much of themselves has been woven into them.
We are constantly asked to choose.
Even when we are unaware that we are choosing.
It is different from instincts such as hunger or thirst.
It is our values that guide those choices.
Simply choosing.
That alone, I believe,
is something deeply precious.
And among countless choices,
when I encounter someone who shares the same values,
or discover a new way of seeing beauty,
I find myself genuinely captivated.
People often say,
"It isn't appearance that matters."
Yet what we wear,
our gestures, our expressions—
our inner selves quietly take shape
and reveal themselves outwardly.
To choose. To wear.
They become reflections of who we are.
One piece at a time,
I want to choose what I truly find beautiful.
And cherish each one.
Perhaps those values, too,
will appear beautiful through someone else's eyes.
